48-Port Ethernet L3 Managed Switch, 48x 1Gb SFP, 4x 10Gb SFP+ Uplinks, Stackable Switch, Broadcom Chip

S5810-48FS is a collection of next-gen multiservice switch, feartures 48x 1G SFP downlinks and 4x 10G SFP+ uplinks. It allows any combination of up to 8 units S5810 series switches to be seamlessly interconnected and managed as a single device. This switch adopts cutting-edge Broadcom chips to deliver 176 Gbps switching capacity and 132 Mpps forwarding rate. It is packed with redundant hot-swappable power supplies and variable-speed axial fans for superior processing performance and network reliability. Boast advanced features, such as enhanced Layer 3 functionality, simplified management, flexible IPv6 capabilities, and diverse multicast protocols, S5810 series switches are ideal acting as aggregation of large-scaled campus networks and core of small to medium- sized enterprise networks.

PSUs can be removed/replaced without shutting down the system, variable-speed fans with left-to-right airflow for superior cooling, noise and power reduction.

ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) Enables Failover Protection in Sub-50ms
ERPS implements loop blocking and link recovery faster than STP on the main device, and can
effectively add redundancy and up-time protection to any network.
Block the RPL owner to avoid sending data endlessly in a loop
Unblock RPL owner to ensure non-stop traffic forwarding
MPLS Helps Establish Point-to-point Connections

MPLS enables small and medium-sized operators to create tunnels for their users, which helps build point-to-point connections and achieves intercommunication between user networks.

we have been starting to use more of these switches as we have been able to test them in production and they seem to be working well so far. This is not a new project, but our network continues to grow and as it does we need to build out more areas which takes more switches and the FS price point has so far been pretty competitive. Also, as it becomes necessary to swap out some of our older switches, the FS switches may become a good replacement for them as well.
