Works flawlessly as 40Gb uplinks in a Juniper virtual chassis.

Looking for good cables to connect a server to two workstations and two Juniper switches. All they needed to run at 40Gbps speed. We added the 40G DAC cables to the FS online cart, since we thought they were more cost-effective than using 40G modules and fiber cables.

We talked with FS AM online and wanted to confirm that the 40G DAC cables would work with our devices. FS guys first asked us our transmission distances and the server’s operating system. We told them, the two workstations were about 50 meters away from the server, and the switches were deployed in a rack that the server lay. Then FS guys recommended us use 40G SR4 modules and MPO fibers to connect the server and workstations, and 40G DAC was OK for connection between the server and switches. They explained that DAC cables were suitable for short-distance less than 7m. Transmission performance would be affected if we selected DAC for connecting the server and workstations.

We got the items on time. 0 packets were dropped after we installed them on our devices.

We've been cooperating with FS for about a year, but we purchased transceivers most of the time. To connect our Juniper EX4300 switches on one end and servers on the other end, we need some 40G DAC cables this time. After contacting with my account manager, she recommended these cables for me based on our situation. Not unexpectedly, FS never lets me down. No issues according to our test results.
