Before using the 10G LR transceiver and the mode conditioning cable, we were seeing errors anywhere from a few times a day to multiple times per second, and just wiggling the connectors would have a noticeable impact on the error rate. After switching to the mode conditioning cable and LR optics, the link has been running error free! This link is just a little bit over the max length for 10G on 62.5um fiber.

In addition to regular patch cables, FS.com makes mode conditioning cables for running single-mode service on multi-mode cable, which we needed for a legacy link. Prices are unbeatable, and better yet, FS.com has a great service team who are very helpful indeed.

Overall quality of the product is very good, but the delivery is very poor. If you need one, ignore the expected date of delivery on the sale site. Add at least two weeks on top of the expected delivery date. If they have stock, those delivery is very good. Just be careful with the custom-made cables
