I have been running FS cameras on my existing NVR for a while. I started running low on storage then I noticed this NVR on sale at a decent price. I swapped a 10TB NVR into my setup and powered it up. It recognized three cameras immediately on my network, but four were initially missing. After performing factory resets, all seven cameras started working. I noticed that the cameras were continuously recording even though I had set up motion alerts. It turned out that I needed to disable the second tab to stop continuous recording. I have two PoE switches with seven cameras connected, all within my network. The NVR is also connected to the network with two Ethernet cables. Setting up email alerts was a bit tricky as the support page mentioned a Google third-party setting that is no longer supported. I had to use the app password option, which generated a password specifically for the app. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the system. I am still exploring its features and currently have nine cameras, all functioning well. They are all connected through three PoE switches, with only one directly patched into the NVR. I am pleased with the setup.
