We used this device to connect an atm machine in a very large hospital campus and it worked perfectly. The cabling vendor ran armored single mode fiber and we paired this with an fs.com 1310nm 10km SFP 1gb and the other end was an FS.com SFP for an Extreme switch platform, 1310nm 10km 1gb. We have a gig link around -7db, no errors.

Due to the distance from the hub fiber was required in this situation and this is the perfect cost effective solution.

This was my first fiber experience, and it went fantastic. I paired these media converters with 40206 and 48929 for my home network. The install was super easy, just plugged In the modules, plugged in the fiber cable and my network came up right away. I can now stream videos from my PC to my Xbox with no buffering. Literally no software setup was needed at all. The shipping from China to west coast USA took 7 days, pretty fast.

We had a site over 300m away, so we used Cat5e from the switch to the converter, and ran the remaining length with OM3 MMF out to the endpoint. The unit powered right up, negotiated at the expected 1Gbps.

Fast delivery and the items are very well packed. However, I am waiting for other items to arrive from overseas before I can test.

I was considering deploying fiber to my house and this presents the best solution to go from Ethernet to fiber. I bought 2 pair to provide surge protection in a long copper link. Surprised at how quick and easy to get them up and running: zero configuration, truly plug and play. Low power consumption and extremely dependable. Love it!

Finally bought this after reading several reviews - Super easy to install. Has been working perfectly for several months with about 400 feet of buried fiber between buildings.
