These kits work well enough, but it the glass is significantly more fragile than what you get in a Commscope cable, as an example. I did a few hundred splices over the last few days; none of my Commscope glass shattered, but these did several times. I’m not sure if Corning glass is used, or something else, but it was substantially more common that it would shatter when cleaved.
