S3900 Gigabit Stackable Switch Stacking Tutorial

S3900 Gigabit Stackable Switch Stacking Tutorial

FS Official 2018-12-13

This video sheds light on how to stack switch using FS S3900-24T4S fanless stackable switches. Evolved from S3800 series gigabit switches, FS S3900 series Gigabit managed switches that come with stack function, consist of S3900-24T4S fanless 24-port stackable switch with 4 10Gb SFP+ uplinks, S3900-24F4S 20-port SFP managed gigabit stackable switch with 4 combo SFP and 4 10Gb SFP+ uplinks, and S3900-48T4S 48-port stackable managed switch with 4 10Gb SFP+ uplinks.

All the three types of stackable switches allow for up to six switches of the same kind being stacked in one unit. The switches are connected through the stacking ports, that is, the rightmost two SFP+ ports. Both DAC cables and the combination of transceiver and fiber patch cables can be used for the physical connection. A text-based commend-line Interface (CLI) can be used to configure the stack members, which is easy and simplified. After the configuration, reboot the switches, and the one being restarted firstly is the stack master that controls the operation of the whole switch stack. Industry-standard CLI and user-friendly Web UI, accessed through the console port or Telnet, help to quickly and simply manage the switch stacks.

FS also offers 4-year free warranty for S3900 gigabit stackable switches. Excellent tech team are quick, effective and responsive to your needs.

Note: the command "switch stacking button 1" is updated as "stacking enable 1".
