Optical and Electrical Cables
Direct Attach Copper (DAC) and Active Optical Cables (AOC) are common cabling solutions for data networking and are usually used for high-speed, high-reliability interconnection and transmission required by data centers, high-performance computers, and large-capacity storage devices. Both of their ends have cable assemblies with factory-terminated transceivers, which are connected to fixed ports only. The combination of surprisingly low up-front costs, with rapid and simple installations and lower power consumption, more than compensates for the reduced flexibility of a fixed cable length in many applications.
Why FS DAC and AOC Cables
Low Power Consumption
Fiber optic cables use optical signals to transmit data, and they have lower power consumption and heat generation than copper cables, helping to reduce energy consumption and cooling requirements.
Low Cost for Ultra-short Connections
DAC cables are lower cost, more durable than optical fibers, and less susceptible to dust and environmental disturbances.
Compatibility, Performance, And Support
Tested and certified in actual switching systems and test equipment to ensure optimal signal integrity and the best end-to-end performance.
