The original signal goes through a single-mode fiber. But now I'm not sure if I can also use multimode fiber patch cables for this connection to my device or if it doesn't matter.

The single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables have differences in fiber core diameter, wavelength and light source, bandwidth ect. The single-mode signal needs to be used with single-mode fiber, and the multi-mode signal needs to be used with multi-mode fiber. От P***y 22/11/2021
