At first I thought the media converter was just a repeater, what I didn't expect was that this product can actually play a role in transmission, which surprised me a lot.

I've been using 2 of these for about a year now. One in a non-climate controlled environment with an FS-LR-SFP+ transceivers and have had no problems at temperatures reaching 100°F.
I highly recommend this product.

Nice and easy media convertor. Worked well with Cisco and Nokia SFPs. I plugged in a fibre and cat 5 ethernet and it worked immediately, with excellent speed results.
