Hello, because the distance between the site is very short, less than 1km, and I would like to order 10G modules of 40km in my solution which has 2 MUX/DEMUX. I want to know if I need an attenuator?

Hi, with 2 MUX/DEMUX between the modules and the loss of 2 MUX/DEMUX is about 6~9dB, the attenuator is not needed in the link. Besides, if the module is directly connected, an attenuator 70009 is required.

For 25G DWDM module, which dispersion compensation module in the link is recommended? Will a regular DCM #65783 work?

The 25G module has higher dispersion requirements and needs to be used with a TDCM, which cannot be replaced with DCM 65783. The TDCM can adjust the dispersion compensation value, whereas the dispersion value of ordinary DCMs is fixed and cannot be adjusted, making it impossible to accurately adjust the dispersion according to the actual link conditions. Thus, TDCM 72427 is still recommended.

Ye, it works. The DWDM module is originally designed for MUX applications.
