25G SFP28 DACs are best suited for short-reach connections within the same rack or between adjacent racks. They offer lower cost, lower power consumption, and true plug-and-play deployment. When the link distance is within the supported range of the DAC (typically ≤5 m) and there is no high requirement for cabling flexibility, a DAC is a more economical and efficient choice. For longer distances, cross-row cabling, or applications requiring higher cable flexibility, optical transceivers with fiber are the preferred solution.

No, it can’t be used in the stack port of your device. FS DAC & AOC can only be used in the business port of the switch to achieve virtual stacking, but can not be used in the stack port to achieve physical stacking. The stacking through the stack port of device belongs to physical stacking which needs a specific stacking cable, and it is under development for now.

Besides the price advantage we have compared to branded cables, FS.COM DACs also maintain the same performance and reliability. To satisfy our customers` needs of high performance, all of our DACs are tested multiple times in mainstream original brand switches in our test center before shipped out. What`s more, using compatible optics in brand devices will not negatively affect manufacturers` warranty if that`s your concern.

There are two major advantages of 25G technology. First, by offering a single-lane 25Gbps variant, 25G allows for optimization of the bandwidth available from switch-fabric design, which is typically viewed from a per-pin and therefore per-lane standpoint. And the other major advantage is it takes existing module form factors and optical plants factors, such as SFP28 and QSFP28, and allows for a breakout connection that is configurable as either 25G per lane or the full 100G without changing the port on the front of switches and the wholes physical infrastructure.
