It can be linked to QSFP112 or OSFP port NICs. It is ideal for short-range switch and NIC connecting scenarios because the NIC side is 4-channel and cannot be connected to the standard short-range 8-channel QDD-400G-SR8 module.

Both are suitable for 400G short-range transmission schemes with 8x50G PAM4 modulation on the electrical side. But 4x100G PAM4 modulation on the optical side of 400GBASE-SR4; the optical side of the 400GBASE-SR8 uses 8x50G PAM4 modulation.
