I have an Aruba 8320 JL579A switch which only has 40G QSFP+ ports, I need to connect it to a Fortigate 400F that only has 10G SFP+ ports - can I use a 40G QSFP+ breakout cable for this? In terms of compatibility how does that work? as the 40G end will need to be Aruba compatible and the 10g end needs to be fortigate compatible.

The compatibility requirements can be met by using a breakout cable, with the following combination: 40G module, HPE Aruba compatible: #166603 10G module, Fortinet compatible: #179739 Breakout cable: #68047 (length can be selected according to your needs)
