Direct cables can achieve 400G transmission by using the same module at both ends; Breakout cables can achieve 400G to two 200G connections by utilizing two 200G QSFP56 SR4 optical modules at one end and MPO/MTP-16 to 2xMPO/MTP-8 multimode patch cables at the other end.

Dust and contamination can accumulate on transceiver's connectors and cause problems such as reducing the optic launch power. To ensure better connection, FS strongly recommends cleaning both connectors each time you disconnect and reconnect them. US Conec IBC™ Brand Cleaner MTP®-16™ for MTP/MPO-16 Connector is the best cleaning choice for 400GBASE-SR8 QSFP-DD transceivers.
