Q:

What are the differences between SFTP and FUTP?

by R***y on 08/20/2021

A:

S/UTP (Shielded/Screened) Unshielded Twisted Pair and F/UTP (Foiled Unshielded Twisted Pair) have either a complete foil or complete braid screen encasement around all 4 unshielded twisted pairs. SFTP, or Shielded and Foiled Twisted Pair, is a mix between S/UTP and F/UTP.

Q:

What is the difference between cat6 cable and cat6a cable?

by J***o on 08/18/2021

A:

Cat6A is fully compatible with Cat6, but it escalates performance in three key areas. First, Cat6A can operate at up to 500 MHz. The extra bandwidth doubles the effective distance at which the cable can maintain 10 Gbps — up to 100 meters.

Q:

Are there other gauges available? 22 AWG? 23?

by S***e on 04/30/2021

A:

The Gauge (AWG) of our standard Cat6a Ethernet Network Patch Cable is 26. If you need the 22AWG or 23AWG for the Cat6a Cable, you could choose the Cat6a Ethernet Solid Bulk Cable #58727.

Q:

Can i use these instead of cat 5 cables?

by V***e on 08/28/2021

A:

Yes, I have tried it and works well. Cat6a cables are both backwards compatible, which means newer Cat6a cables can be used with older Cat5e,

Q:

Is this Patch Code compatible with 1000Mbps Connections or Switches?

by R***a on 08/08/2019

A:

Thanks for your question. Yes, it is. But the patch cable #66789 is a cat6a which data rate is 10GBase-T. If you just need 1000Mbps connections, Cat6 patch cable #70595 or #66732 may be more suitable for you. For more information, welcome to contact Sales@fs.com.
