1x 10/100/1000Base-T RJ45 to 1x 1000Base-X SFP Slot Mini Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter, AC 100V~240V

The UMC-GA1F1T Mini Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter bridges 1000Base-X fiber to 10/100/1000Base-T copper networks, enabling fiber extensions up to 2KM (Multimode) or 160KM (Single Mode/WDM) via SFP modules. It features integrated LED indicators (Power, Link, Activity, Speed) for easy status monitoring and maintenance, helping reduce network downtime. With built-in Link Fault Pass-through (LFP) technology, the UMC-GA1F1T enhances troubleshooting efficiency and network reliability. Supporting chassis installation, it is a flexible solution for ISP infrastructures and small office deployments. It is also compatible with various transceivers, including 1000Base SFP, BIDI, and CWDM modules. Be sure that the wavelength, speed rate, and the distance of the transceiver modules used at both ends of the media converter are consistent.

Im am quite happy that this is coming together. I'm happy that I chose to deal with a big company that is well established. That is what it means by taking care of your customers. I'm most definitely be dealing with FS.com in the future.

I cannot comment on reliability or durability, but wanted to comment on functionality, specifically around the port isolation mode.

These appear to operate as a 3-port switch. When port isolation is disabled, all ports can pass traffic between each other. This supports the media conversion because you essentially uplink two switches together over fiber and get copper ports at each end.

In port isolation mode, the converter seems to accept only untagged frames on the copper ports, and then for TP1 ingress frames, it applies vlan tag 222 across the fiber uplink and for TP2 ingress frames, applies vlan tag 333 across the fiber. These are then obviously stripped off at the other end as the frames egress the copper ports and vice versus.

I had wanted to use these to pass two different uplinks over fiber but some of my traffic is already tagged with a vlan, and the converter seemed to drop all frames that were tagged on ingress of the copper ports, so I'll have to run two fiber links for my use case.

Other than that, they seem to function fine, but the bandwidth will obviously be limited to 1Gb total between both copper ports since there's only a single gigabit fiber port connecting the two media converters.
