C-Band 40 Channels DWDM EDFA Optical Amplifier

With the feature of medium to low input power, medium output power, and medium gain, the pre-amplifier operates at the receiving end of an optical link to compensate for losses in a demultiplexer located near the optical receiver.

FS.COM pre-amplifier is a low-noise, gain-flattened C-band optical erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) designed to cost-effectively extend the optical link power budget for building long distance DWDM solutions.

We want to understand the AGC (automatic gain control) feature of this 20dB pre-amplifier, and the other 26dB and 28dB units. With AGC, does it mean that the gain will be fixed at 20dB, 26dB and 28dB, respectively? If we purchase the 28dB unit, can it be adjusted via the Windows GUI so that the gain is 26 or 20dB? No, it can't be adjusted via the Windows GUI. Taking the #72284 OPA13/G20 as an example, when the output power is lower than the saturated output 13dB, the gain is always 20dB; When it reaches 13dB, the gain will decrease as the input increases. If you want to purchase the EDFA with 20/26/28dB gain, it's recommended that you choose the 28dB unit, then you can use VOA(#65271) to artificially increase the precise attenuation to adjust the input/output power.By E***n on 05/07/2019

Sure, the operation Wavelength of the EDFA-PA is in the range of 1528nm~1564nm (C band), it can be amplified in this wavelength range. And the Pre-Amplifier only have one port, the input and output ports of DWDM EDFA-PA on our website are a simplex port.By U***n on 10/29/2018

In order to avoid increasing the link loss, dispersion compensation is usually placed before the BA or after the PA, it should be noted the DCM that placed before the BA should not exceed 40km at most.By R***s on 10/08/2018
