OLP (Optical Line Protection) is a device used in pairs, one at each end of the optical signal to protect network transmission line. It can realize optical power monitoring and automatic switching. In optical communication network, OLP monitors optical power of optical fiber and standby optical fiber at real time. In case the current optical power of optical fiber is less than pre-set switching threshold value, then alarm is on and it would switch to standby optical fiber automatically to protect optical transmission system line. This feature makes OLP widely used for protecting backbone and important business lines. Designed for maximum configuration flexibility, this module can plug directly into the FMT managed chassis, each module occupying one slot.
This module can facilitate an integrated cost-effective and flexible optical layer solution by incorporating a variety of optical layer boards, such as OEO/EDFA/DCM/MUX/OSW/R/B, and can be applied to DWDM dual-fiber/optical cable monitoring systems, to meet the diverse needs of scenarios.
