Would a OM3 or OM4 fibre patch leads be backwards compatible and work with a OM1 or OM2 cabling in existing infrastructure? Thanks

A:

Yes, they can be used in OM1/2 applications but have longer distances and lower loss. By the way, if you have other choices, you'd better not connect OM1 to other multimode patch cords with adapter products.
