Question 1

Will the ONT authentication process with the OLT affect the normal operation of GPON ports? In other words, can a new ONT be reconfigured on a different GPON port without disrupting existing ONTs?

No, the ONT authentication process does not disable GPON ports. You can reconfigure an ONT on a different GPON port without affecting the ONTs already in service.

Question 2

We need setup with multiple SSID's on ONU and each one of them should be in bridge mode and separate VLAN. I tried something but none of SSID's have any traffic and clients are not getting IP, could you help explain why this is happening and provide the correct configuration method?

1. First, check if DHCP is working properly. You can verify this on the OLT by checking if the wireless devices, which are on the same VLAN, can obtain an IP address.
2. Confirm if the devices are able to connect to the wireless network but are unable to obtain an IP address, is that correct?
3. There seems to be an issue with the ONU configuration. The WAN is set to bridge mode, but the service is selected as VoIP. The correct option would be to select "Other" instead.
4. You can try binding one of the WAN connections to a LAN port and see if it can successfully obtain an IP address.
5. Use the following command to collect WAN interface configuration: Switch_config#show gpon interface gpon 0/1:1 onu wan config

Question 3

The issue is that the ONU only works with only one ssid and VLAN 90. When I added two additional SSID's none is working including first one that worked before.

Hello, to create multiple WAN connections, choose "Other" as the connection mode. Each individual WAN connection, when bound to a separate SSID, will be able to obtain an IP address properly. The corresponding configuration commands on the OLT are as follows:
Switch_config_gpon0/1:9#gpon onu wan 1 connection-type bridge  // Set to bridge mode
Switch_config_gpon0/1:9#gpon onu wan 1 tci vlan 45 priority 5   // Bind to VLAN 45
Switch_config_gpon0/1:9#gpon onu wan 1 service-type other  // Set service mode to 'other'
Switch_config_gpon0/1:9#gpon onu wan 1 bind ssid1  // Bind to SSID1
Switch_config_gpon0/1:9#gpon onu wan 1 lan-dhcp disable  // Disable DHCP functionality
The configuration for other WAN connections bound to SSIDs follows the same logic; you just need to modify the WAN connection name and SSID name accordingly. If configured on the OLT, there is no need to configure the ONU. However, you can also configure it directly on the ONU, which means there’s no need to configure it on the OLT. You can choose either option.
