The NVIDIA/Mellanox InfiniBand MMS4X50-NM Compatible OSFP Optical Transceiver is an 800Gb/s 2x 400Gb/s Twin-port OSFP, 2x FR4 single mode, Multiplexed, 8-channel transceiver using two, 2-fiber, LC Duplex optical connectors each carrying 4-channels of 100G-PAM4. The dual Far Reach 8-channel (2x FR4) design uses 100G-PAM4 electrical and optical modulation based on the CWDM4 serial, multiplexed 1310nm wavelength grid. It is qualified for use in InfiniBand NDR end-to-end systems.
The twin-port OSFP closed finned top transceiver is used in Quantum-2 air-cooled switches. Featured with low latency, low power, and reliability, it can link upward in spine-leaf architectures for switch-to-switch applications, downward for top-of-rack switch links to ConnectX® smart network adapters, and/or to BlueField-3 DPUs in compute servers and storage subsystems. It is the ideal solution for HPC computing, AI, and cloud data centers.
Note: This "Closed Finned Top" refers to a closed top design, which uses a finned-top but with a lid on top of the fins creating a closed channel for additional cooling. It is engineered to support both airflow cooling and liquid-cooled environments, offering enhanced mechanical protection and thermal compatibility in high-density systems.
