Dell Compatible 40/100GBASE-SM4 SWDM4 QSFP28 Dual Rate Optical Transceiver Module (Dual Rate, MMF, 850/880/910/940nm, 100m, LC, DOM)

The Dell Compatible 40/100GBASE-SM4 SWDM4 QSFP28 Optical Transceiver Module is designed for use in 40/100G Ethernet. In 40 Gbps mode, the transceiver supports link lengths of up to 440 meters over laser-optimized OM5 multimode fiber. In 100 Gbps mode, it supports link lengths of up to 150 meters on OM5. It operates at four different wavelengths, each supporting 10G/25G transmission over existing duplex multimode fiber with standard LC connectors. The SWDM4 transceiver enables reuse of its existing 10G duplex MMF infrastructure for migration to 40G with a path toward 100G.

This transceiver is compliant with the QSFP28 MSA, SWDM MSA and IEEE802.3bm CAUI-4 electrical interface. Digital diagnostics functions are also available via the I2C interface, as specified by the QSFP28 MSA, to allow access to real-time operating parameters.

100G Connectivity for Data Center
The 100G SWDM4 can achieve 100G short-range transmission through duplex LC like 100G SRBD. But quad-band SWDM4 will not interoperate with dual-wavelength PAM4 SRBD.
