The PON Coexistence Element (CEx) module enables multiple services—including GPON, XG(S)-PON, NG-PON2, OTDR, and other current or future technologies—to operate simultaneously over a single fiber using wavelength multiplexing. It provides a smooth and cost-effective upgrade path to next-generation PON services without the need to replace existing infrastructure.
Engineered with thin-film filter (TFF) technology, FS CEx features a plug-and-play design compatible with FS FMU chassis, holding up to 2 modules per 1U rack. Operating across a broad 1260–1660nm operating range, it delivers low insertion loss, high isolation, and excellent optical stability, ensuring reliable multi-service transmission and future-ready scalability.

FMU-WDM43O, PON Coexistence Element (CEx) WDM for GPON/XG(S)-PON/NG-PON2/OTDR, SC/APC, FMU Plug-in Module
PON Coexistence Element (CEx) module uses TFF technology to combine GPON, XG(S)-PON, and NG-PON2 over existing fiber, enabling smooth network upgrades and future scalability.
This CEx module enables the coexistence of GPON, XG(S)-PON, NG-PON2, and OTDR signals over a single fiber by assigning specific wavelengths to each port. With high integration and clear functionality, it simplifies multi-service access and centralized control.
Utilizing TFF thin-film filter technology, the module offers low insertion loss, high isolation, and excellent return loss to ensure stable multi-wavelength transmission and reliable service coexistence.
Plug-and-play FMU module with rugged design integrates smoothly into FS FMU chassis, simplifying installation and improving rollout efficiency.
FS CEx modules offer flexible customization across wavelength configuration, housing and connector types to fit various network architectures and service combinations.
