I purchased the FS VMS for some direct hook-up cameras and cameras on my network. The VMS installing the hard drive in the unit was easy. The menu system is user-friendly and easy to navigate. The recording quality is excellent and controlling the PTZ cameras works well.

I needed a VMS. After doing some research looking for ONVIF-compatible VMS, I decided the best bang for the buck is the FS. Setting up the VMS was super easy once I found the Storage submenu (to format the hard drive that I had just installed). From that point, I went straight to the Camera submenu where I was able to find all of my cameras on my Network. If you are connecting FS cameras, the setup process is super easy. Most of my cameras were located on my LAN (through a POE switch). I’ve successfully connected a handful of generic IP cameras (including multiple PTZ cameras). Some cameras took some effort to figure out the connection parameters, but I was able to integrate all of them.

The web UI is non-intuitive, but once you get the hang of how things are arranged, it's not too bad. The schedule programming and camera config pages could really use some redesign, but it has a lot of nice capabilities. The actual hardware seems very nicely built with a solid case and connectors. Video quality is very good, and the motion detection is better than I've seen on some other devices. Overall, I'm happy with this device and am hopeful that future updates will improve the UI.
