The dual power supplies can be replaced without shutting down the system, and the variable-speed fans with front-to-back airflow automatically adjust fan speed to reduce power draw.

MLAG Realizes Uninterrupted Services

The switch running MLAG can be upgraded without disrupting MLAG traffic. During the upgrade, another switch in the system takes over traffic forwarding to ensure uninterrupted services.

Q:

I want to know the difference between the following three switches, S3900-48T4S, S3910-48TS and S5800-48T4S. Anybody can explain from different applications and advantages?

by D***o on 09/26/2021

A:

S3900-48T4S and S3910-48TS are L2+ switches, they are suitable for the small and medium-sized campus network. S5800-48T4S is a L3 switch, which is ideal for enterprises, data centers, and ISP. S3900-48T4S and S3910-48TS support stacking and complete Layer 2 functions. They also support some Layer 3 functions such as RIP, OSPF, VRRP, and DHCP. S5800-48T4S supports MLAG (stacking is not supported), VXLAN EVPN, MPLS, PFC, ECN and more advanced functions(license #100590 is needed for VXLAN EVPN and MPLS).

This is a very nice 48-Port managed switch in exchange for our VM infrastructure and its backup. The biggest traffic is produced by the daily image backup. (maximum approx. 1,5TB) 1 Gbit is currently sufficient for this. We do not need a large core switch, so I noticed the S5800-48T4S. This has worked well for my needs. I'm also impressed with the quality of the build and consistency of well-made ports. For the price, I believe it is a good option.
