FS.COM Introduced TAP LGX Cassettes Solution for Data Center Monitoring Applications

FS.COM Introduced TAP LGX Cassettes Solution for Data Center Monitoring Applications

By FS.COMAugust 30, 2016

Aug 30th, Shenzhen, FS.COM News – Recently, FS.COM introduced a series of TAP LGX cassettes, which make a 100% copy of your networks data without affecting network traffic, providing an efficient solution to monitor traffic and network link quality in data center and telecom carrier networks.

TAP cassettes

Data center networks are becoming more and more complex making it more difficult to trouble shoot and balance traffic within LANs and SANs. Optical TAP cassettes allow you to split your fiber optic signal to send one part to your live network and the other part to a test environment. This can give you a much fuller understanding of your data flow patterns and allow you to plan your technology integrations accordingly.

Optical TAP cassettes can be used in both the Ethernet network and SAN. The proportional share of signal for network and tester is known as the split ratio. The most common split ratio deployed in Ethernet systems today tends to be 50/50 and in Fibre Channel SAN systems is 70/30. As the need to monitor data becomes more prevalent, performance considerations for incorporating TAP cassettes in the data center cabling infrastructure should be taken into account.

FS.COM TAP LGX cassettes are optimized and tested for high-performance on fiber networks. Each TAP cassette in the family is modular, can support 10 Gigabit, 40 Gigabit, and 100 Gigabit speeds, and is 100 percent passive. Available in multimode and single-mode fiber varieties with either a 50/50 or 70/30 split ratio. Depending on the model, our TAP cassette is available with LC or MTP (MPO) connectors.
