No, it can’t be used in the stack port of your device. FS DAC & AOC can only be used in the business port of the switch to achieve virtual stacking, but can not be used in the stack port to achieve physical stacking. First, by offering a single-lane 25Gbps variant, 25G allows for optimization of the bandwidth available from switch-fabric design, which is typically viewed from a per-pin and therefore per-lane standpoint. Great value for us!

These Arista coded DACs are incredible value. They cost much less than using SFP28 and LC-LC patch cables and fill my need for cost efficient 25G links between two switches in adjacent links. I’m using 2 of these to form an aggregated link between two Arista switches. Just plug in and they work fine. I have nothing to worry about. No reason not to pick this up if you need it.

We considered to use 25G DACs to connect our Cisco switches (Cisco Nexus 93180YC-EX and Cisco C9500-24Y4C) and found this type of DAC we wanted very quickly, nice design of the website. Also, we wanted to use this DAC cable in our 25GbE adapters and hoped it could normally work at the commercial temperature of 0~70°C. We confirmed these info from fs technician and got positive replies in a very short time. The prompt reply (real commercial temperature range of -20~70°C) was important for us.

We placed an order of several DAC cables and received them in three days later with intact package. They worked well with both our switches and adapters. Just considering whether to buy more for our newly bought switches.

Cost effective solution

This is likely the most cost effective way to link two nearby system to each other at 25GB/s transfer speeds. The cable connectors fit and feature nice strain reliefs. The cable has been working without issues for several months now.
