Compared to the use of multiple standalone switches, stacking technology provides several advantages related to simplicity, scalability, and flexibility. A stack of switches appears to the operator and the rest of the network as one single switch, making it easier to manage and configure.

Design A Stacking Network with Our S3800 Series Swtich

Our S3800-24F4S and S3800-24T4S are enterprise-class stackable managed Gigabit Ethernet switches. S3800-24F4S has 4x 10G SFP+ Ports, 20x 100/1000Base SFP Ports and 4x 1G Combo Ports, suit for fiber network. S3800-24T4S has 4x 10G SFP+ Ports and 24x 100/1000Base-T SFP Ports, mainly used in copper network.

To stacking our switches, the SFP+ ports are often used. Therefore, 10G SFP+ DAC cables, 10G SFP+ AOC cables, or 10G SFP+ transceivers could be used for the stacking connections.

Note: The SFP+ port is the only stacking port for S3800 switch; S3800 switch can support up to four switches stacking together; A S3800 switch can only be stacked with the same model of S3800 switch.
