Would having a QSFP-100G-LR4-S on origination end and QSFP28-DR-100G on destination end communicate?

No, the #QSFP-100G-LR4-S wavelength is a four-channel wavelength for LWDM, while the #QSFP28-DR-100G is a single-channel 1310nm wavelength. The two cannot be connected. Par FS.com le 14/07/2023
