CWDM technology provides the flexibility to increase capacity of existing fiber infrastructure by enabling multiple channels/wavelengths over the same fiber cabling. Each channel carries data independently from each other, allowing network designers to transport different data rates. It's protocol and rate transparent supporting such applications as 1G/10G Ethernet, SDH/SONET and 8/4/2/1G Fiber Channel across the same fiber link.

About two weeks ago, we were preparing our purchase list including some SFP modules, fiber jumpers, panels, and CWDM MUX/DEMUXes. We'd love to buy all of the components from FS, but I was still uncertain whether the 9ch Single-fiber CWDM MUX/DEMUXes would fit our demands. So I turned to FS's account manager for help. The AM provided me with a solution of deploying 9ch and 2ch CWDM MUX/DEMUXes based on our case. The maximum link loss was within the range of acceptance. Their detailed product list covered EVERY item description and some remarks for my reference, which impressed me indeed.

We need a 14km connection between two sites. We wanted to adopt a WDM solution, DWDM seems not cost-effective due to our tight budget. After discussing, FS's technical team recommended us with another CWDM solution including the following components: 9ch CWDM MUX/DEMUXes (1270-1590 on side A and 1290-1610 on side B), customized OEO, FMU Chassis, and some matched modules and cables. The solution they provided was rather exhaustive, which solved our problems effectively and meet our 14km-transmission requirements. Thanks for your tech support again!
