In the diagram it shows a DCM and BA for both the working and protection route, if both routes are the same distance and loss, could just a single amplified signal plug into the OLP and then split to the two different routes? Or is it suggest to amplify AFTER the OLP?

  • Thanks for your question. Both two solutions you menbtioned can meet the transmission need. When the distance and loss of the two paths are the same, we recommend the first way. Please notice that if there's no DCM and EDFA, it will affect signal transmission of the both paths, but amplifying AFTER the OLP is safer.
