FS.com uniboot fiber optic series offers a comprehensive lineup of products that cater to the diverse requirements of data centers. The LC, CS™, MDC, and SN connector options meet the specific needs of various applications. Explore the diverse range of uniboot patch cords from FS.com to enhance the reliability, flexibility, and performance of your data center connections.
Benefits of FS Uniboot Fiber Cable Series
Uniboot fiber refers to a type of fiber optic cable that combines the functionality of traditional dual-fiber cables into a single cable. It enables bidirectional transmission by incorporating two separate fiber cores within a single jacket. This design offers several unique features and advantages.
High Density:
Uniboot fiber cable provides at least 50% higher density than conventional dual-fiber cables. Combining two fibers into one cable, reduces the cables required for connectivity, resulting in improved space utilization and easier cable management within data centers.
Polarity Reversibility:
Uniboot fiber optical cables streamline the installation and maintenance of fiber optic connections. With uniboot patch cord, polarity changes are a breeze, requiring four simple steps to flip the connector. This convenient feature saves time and effort, making polarity adjustments quick and hassle-free.
Bend Insensitivity:
Uniboot fiber cable utilizes bend-insensitive optical fibers, engineered to be less sensitive to bending and twisting. The single-mode uniboot fiber cable provides a minimum bend radius of 10mm.
Now, let's introduce FS's series of products based on different connector types. Please note that the information above is a general overview of FS's uniboot fiber and its key features. The specific details and capabilities of FS's uniboot fiber product series may vary. Please see the product pages for details.
LC Connector Uniboot Fibers
LC uniboot connectors are widely used fiber optic connectors. FS LC uniboot fiber optical cables are available in different types: standard, flat clip, push-pull boot, and switchable.
LC Standard Clip Uniboot Cables:
LC standard clip connector is the typical option in LC uniboot connectors. Standard uniboot patch cord design allows one cable to carry both fibers, reducing cable congestion when routing. FS LC Uniboot connector fiber optic patch cords are constructed with a 2.0mm cable available in PVC (OFNR) or low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) rated jacket materials to meet local ordinances.
LC Flat Clip Uniboot Cables:
Flat Clip uniboot fiber cable is specifically designed with a flat clip feature, which creates extra space between connectors. This unique design offers improved heat dissipation and minimizes the risk of overheating, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Additionally, the reverse-polarity design of this connector enables effortless and tool-free polarity conversion, without the need to expose the fibers.
LC Push-pull Boot Uniboot Cables:
Push-pull boot uniboot patch cord allows quick plug without tools in high-density space. Utilizing a convenient and sturdy push-pull boot, LC uniboot connector fibers can easily be inserted and removed from high-density cabling without special tooling. LC push-pull boot uniboot cables, along with other FS uniboot fiber cables, exhibit an insertion loss rate of ≤0.2dB, which enhances the stability and reliability of signal transmission.
LC Switchable Uniboot Cables:
Switchable uniboot fiber cable is a unique design that allows switching polarity without using any tools. It is commonly used in data centers where cable counts are high and space is limited. Switchable uniboot fiber optical cables offer convenience and flexibility, making them well-suited for environments where polarity changes may be necessary. FS uniboot patch cords are also available in multimode OM3/OM4 and single-mode OS2 cable types. The multimode OM3/OM4 cables are ideal for short-distance transmissions, while the single-mode OS2 cables are better suited for long-distance transmissions.

VSFF Connector Uniboot Fibers
The VSFF (Very Small Form Factor) connector is smaller in size compared to traditional optical connectors like LC, allowing for greater port density and optimized space utilization. The VSFF connector typically utilizes a push-pull mechanism for easy insertion and removal. Despite its small size, the VSFF connector offers reliable performance and low signal loss, ensuring efficient and high-quality optical connectivity. FS VSFF uniboot patch cords are available in different types: MDC connector, SN connector and CS™ connector.
MDC Connector Uniboot Cables:
US Conec's ELiMENT® MDC (Micro-DC) connector is a VSFF duplex optical connector manufactured using 1.25mm ceramic ferrule technology. MDC connector provides three times the cabling density compared to the LC connector. FS also provides MDC to MDC and MDC to LC uniboot cable products to enrich the wiring options of users.
SN Connector Uniboot Cables:
SN uniboot fiber cables are designed for frequent plugging and unplugging connections, providing a cabling density that is three times higher than LC connectors. FS offers SN to SN and SN to LC uniboot cable products. In addition, FS VSFF connector uniboot patch cords can be used with different optical transceivers of FS to achieve 100G, 400G even 800G ethernet communication.
CS™ Connector Uniboot Cables:
CS™ connector combines the functionality of two LC connectors into a single housing. CS™ connector offers 1.5 times the cabling density when compared to the LC connector. CS™ connector fiber cables, as well as other FS uniboot fiber optical cables, are designed to meet diverse indoor installation requirements. They are particularly suitable for network cabinet connections, ceiling wiring, and under-floor wiring in data centers.
