What's the difference between V3 and V4? Is it worth paying extra for BOX V4?

FS BOX V4 offers key upgrades over V3, especially for QSFP-DD support and flexible mobile field use.
From a hardware perspective, V3 and V4 share programming capabilities for common SFP/QSFP transceivers and DAC/AOC cables with DDM monitoring and wavelength tuning, while V4 adds QSFP-DD support and a built-in battery for on-site use without external power.
From a software and connectivity perspective, both can be operated via a computer, but V4 also offers Bluetooth connectivity and dedicated Android/iOS apps for mobile configuration and monitoring. 
For basic desk-based use with standard SFP/QSFP modules, V3 offers good value, but for greater functionality and on-site efficiency, V4 is the recommended choice and is worth the additional cost.

Can this re-code generic FS DAC and SFP transceivers to be Aruba compatible?

Due to the especially of the HPE compatible codes, the modules couldn't be re-corded to Aruba compatible by FS Box.
But SFP, SFP+, SFP28, XFP, QSFP+, QSFP28, QSFP-DD could be re-corded to other compatible by Box V4, such as Cisco, Dell, Jumper etc.,

Regarding the GPON ONU Stick, please note that it can't be configured by the FS BOX. This GPON Stick module is used for the 1G SFP port of Ethernet switching devices and can be compatible with multiple brand devices.

You can modify FS modules' compatibility by using the FS BOX and then choosing general compatibility.

Or, do we have to run a windows desktop to use the device?
