S5850-32S2Q is a high performance ToR/Leaf switch to meet the next generation Metro, Data Center and Enterprise network requirements. It has 32-port 10GbE SFP+ and 4-port 40GbE QSFP+ in a compact 1RU form factor and low latency L2/L3 Ethernet switch. The S5850-32S2Q comes with the complete system software with comprehensive protocols and applications to facilitate the rapid service deployment and management for both traditional L2/L3 networks. With support for advanced features, including MLAG, VXLAN, SFLOW, SNMP etc, this switch is ideal for traditional or fully virtualized data center.

The S5850-32S2Q is cost-effective Ethernet access and aggregation platform to Data Center application and is ideally designed for demanding workloads.

  • QDoes this switch come in a DC version? I noticed on the Specification sheet it mentions Operating Voltage: 36~75Vdc Input. I was just curious how you request one with DC inputs instead of AC.
    A Yes, we can do DC power supply. But the default version is AC power supply. If you need DC, please reach out to for help.

  • Q1.Is it possible to use OSPF in combination with NVGRE/VXLAN for controlling of routing of NVGRE/VXLAN packets? Is it possible to implement link failure protection with combination of NVGRE/VXLAN and OSPF? 2. Is the implementation of NVGRE/VXLAN on N-Series/ICOS compatible with implementation of NVGRE/VXLAN on FS-OS on S5850?
    A 1. Yes, OSPF is used to connect VXLAN and it's available to control the routing of VXLAN packets. By setting the priority route on OSPF to ensure the redundancy of the link, when a routing is broken, OSPF can quickly switch routing to ensure to the implement link and to deliver the data without interruption. 2. Yes, NVGRE/VXLAN is deployed on N-Series and S5850 Series, they can be successfully achieved the tunneling and implement L2 features.
