The Application of 100BASE-X SFPs Transceiver

Posted on by FS.COM

Fiberstore transceiver operates with 1550TX and 1310RX wavelengths to maximize existing installed fiber cabling and providing a cost effective method upgrade to the existing IT infrastructure. The compatible 100BASE-BX10 (part numbers GLC-FE-100BX-D and GLC-FE-100BX-U) SFPs are Cisco compatible SFP fiber transceivers used in 100BASE networks. They form a pair to work on the simplex optical fiber link A 100BASE-BX10-D device is always connected a 100BASEBX10-U device with a single strand of standard SMF with an operating transmission range up to 10 km. 100BASE-BX10-D transmits a 1550nm channel and receives a 1310nm signal, whereas a 100BASE-BX10-U transmits a 1310nm wavelength and receives a 1550nm signal. The 100BASE-BX10-U transceivers are high performance, cost effective modules supporting data-rate of 155Mbps and 10km transmission distance with SMF. They are compatible with SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and SFF-8472. For further information, please refer to SFP MSA.

The Cisco compatible 100BASE-X Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) device is a hot-swappable input/output device that plugs into Fast Ethernet ports, dual-rate Fast/Gigabit Ethernet ports, or Gigabit Ethernet ports of a Cisco switch or router, linking the port with the fiber optic network. They support the “pay-as-you-populate” model and are interchangeable with other 100BASE-X SFPs on the same line card. The switch or router does not have to reboot when deployed. For example, the Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series. The Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series 48-port, nonblocking, 100BASE-X line card allows customers to combine various SFP optics based on the network need. There is a flexible alternative to the Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series fixed 100BASE-X line cards. One to forty-eight 100BASE-X SFP optics can be populated on a single line card, as 100BASE-X SFP optics are optional. For Cisco router, the 100BASE-X SFPs support the Cisco 892F Series and Cisco 892FSP.

This SFP is fully compatible with IEEE standards for 100Base network. Optically interoperable with respective 100BASE-X Ethernet interfaces on the same link. This transceiver consists of three sections: a FP laser transmitter, a PIN photodiode integrated with a trans-impedance preamplifier (TIA) and MCU control unit. All modules satisfy class I laser safety requirements. We supply Cisco equivalent 100BASE-BX10 SFP transceivers, and these products are fast delivery and very much economic prices.
